all those who have experienced the loss of a child. Whether you are

when a child dies and we all have our own way of dealing with
grief.

My name is RyLee Madison and my grief comes from my best friend's loss. Although I haven't lost a child myself, and I will not begin to pretend I know what that feels like, I do know how it feels to watch someone very close to me suffer so intensely.
My best friends Kim and Keith (pictured above) delivered their baby girl Alexandra Lee Paré, December 16th 1997, one day after their doctor could no longer locate the baby's heartbeat. Alex was a beautiful full-term baby: perfect fingers, perfect toes, perfect everything. We all waited anxiously with a string of hope that Alex might come into the world crying but, as the doctors had feared, she came into the world still.
I felt blessed to have had the opportunity to hold this little angel in my arms, but at the same time my heart ached deeply for Kim and Keith. I still remember the brief moment of comfort and peace I felt in this child's presence…..a moment that has affected my life profoundly. I knew that I had to find a way to bring this same sense of comfort and peace to Kim and Keith.
Almost a year later the song "Angel Child" (the inspiration behind the project) came to me. With the help of family and friends I recorded the song and gave it to Kim and Keith for Christmas. Comfort was the word they used to describe how the song made them feel, and comfort has been the word many touched by the song have used to describe their experience since. From this response, the Angel Child Project was born.
